The Dawn Chorus Impromptu Breakfast Band - All Welcome!
​(Most...) Friday mornings 9.30 - 9.55 am

On most Friday mornings when Dawn Chorus rehearses at Marazion Community Centre ... singers are welcomed by the dulcet (!?!) tones of the Dawn Chorus Impromptu Breakfast Band playing folk tunes ... just for the joy of it, to put a spring in your step or make you smile.

Anyone is welcome to join in ... and dancing has occured! More and more instruments (some not touched for decades) are coming out of the woodwork. We play simple folk songs - just for fun, and at the speed we can manage ... with music or chords available for those who wish. 

We have a core of players you can join in with and have had accordions, fiddles, 'cellos, ukuleles. guitars, basses (upright and sideways), cajons, an ewi (ask Phil...) a flute, recorders, concertinas, a clarinet and a melodeon ... from what I can recall. It's all very informal and has grown from 3 or 4 of us up to c. 20 players - particularly at the start of a 'Big Friendly Sing'.

It's just for the fun of having a few tunes at an unlikely time in the morning. Come to think of it - the Dawn Chorus Impromptu Breakfast Band  has never actually had breakfast together ... maybe that needs rectifying. We have 'played out' a couple of times for the Carleen Tea Treat, and some of us play in the Golowan Band too -  but mostly just have a few tunes before choir. Do come and have a go if you fancy it.
