Dark Skies Guiding Stars
Many thanks to everyone who came along to the 'Dark Skies, Guiding Stars' event exploring navigation by the stars on 24th May at Marazion Community Centre - especially our wonderful presenters Jo Jo Pickering, Keith Dibley and Peter Morgan as well as to Jane 'Queen of scones' Furey, Stacia Hill and Joceline Rennie for their help in putting the event together.
We had many fascinating stories, poems, memories, ideas, anecdotes and questions contributed during and after the event. Pip has now created 2 new songs 'Dark Skies, Guiding Stars' and 'Stella Maris' inspired by these contributions. There will be a Free, Open Workshop (Click here for details) where you can hear and / or learn these songs at the Solomon Browne Hall in Mousehole, 7-9pm on Tuesday 10th July. The songs will be sung at the Sea Salts and Sails festival in Mousehole on Friday 13th July. email: [email protected] for further information or book at place at the 10th July workshop. |
Thanks to Jack Kouwenberg and Belinda Carling for the photos.
